Argentina,
producing intense wines and incredible value, has
quickly taken its place in the South American spotlight
with Chile . It is hard to believe that Argentina
is the fifth largest wine producing country in the
world. It has not been more than a decade since we
saw only a few labels on any store’s shelves.
With far broader expanses of land than Chile
’s compressed valleys, Argentina offers much
greater possibility for production and expansion.
The 2001 economic crash has held back development
but still this country is a destination for a long
list of foreign investors because of the excellent
potential its vineyards have to offer. The winemaking
names behind many of our Argentine and Chilean imports
are straight from the “who’s who in winemaking”,
producing outstanding wines of exceptional quality
from smaller estates.
